Summer at the Museum

POINT OF VIEW

This summer, we’ll see the world a little differently.

Throughout July and August, enjoy a curious and discovery-filled summer experience that combines science, art, water, space, and hands-on interactive activities for the whole family.

In the new international exhibition POINT OF VIEW, discover sculptures and optical illusions that seem impossible—until you view them from the right angle. At the water zone The water ways, you can play, splash, and experiment with giant water games, while the space festival Beyond the Sky features a digital planetarium, rocket demonstrations, building workshops, and a special encounter with astronaut Eytan Stibbe.

Throughout the summer, you’ll also find live science shows, creative workshops, foam parties, and activities for all ages. A summer experience of play, learning, and imagination—filled with moments of curiosity, discovery, and fun.

Point of View Exhibition

The Point of View exhibition brings to Israel for the first time the extraordinary works of artist and scientist Jonty Hurwitz, one of the world’s leading creators at the intersection of art, science, and visual perception. Step into a world of optical illusions, anamorphic sculptures, and surprising artworks that appear abstract at first glance but reveal themselves clearly only from a specific angle or through a precise reflection. This is an interactive experience in which visitors do not simply observe the artworks—they become active participants in a fascinating journey through physics, mathematics, optics, and imagination.

Among the works on display is The Fragile Giant, a Guinness World Record–breaking sculpture: a nano-scale elephant created using advanced technology and invisible to the naked eye without a microscope. Beyond the visual experience, the exhibition also explores themes of identity, memory, the environment, and peace, inviting visitors to rethink the way we see and interpret the world. After being presented at leading international museums around the globe, the exhibition arrives in Israel for the very first time, here at the museum.

Water Ways Exhibition

Hot? Perfect!

The Water Ways exhibition returns this summer in a bigger, wetter, and especially refreshing version—and the outdoor area is transformed into an interactive space full of experiments, games, and hands-on water activities from every direction.

At the heart of the space, you’ll find a giant 70-meter-long water channel with endless opportunities to play, flow, build, and explore:
💧 Build dams and experiment with water flow
💧 Pumping stations and hands-on water movement activities
💧 Water cannons and interactive installations
💧 Exhibits demonstrating how water flows, compresses, splits, and sprays
💧 A new installation demonstrating the principle of communicating vessels and siphons

Water Ways is not only a wet and fun experience—it’s also an opportunity to discover how science, technology, and innovation are transforming the world of water.

Mekorot

Together with Mekorot, we developed an interactive projection surface that invites visitors to manage Israel’s water economy and explore the country’s water sources and unique system through the placement of 3D objects—from positioning pumping stations in the Sea of Galilee and desalination plants along the coast to connecting supply pipelines to cities. The projection responds instantly and shows the impact of each action on the water system.

Arad Water

Arad Water will present innovative flow meters alongside an interactive, hands-on activity where you can measure, calculate, and discover how to save water intelligently.

You’re going to get wet—so bring towels and a change of clothes!

Chain Reaction – Energy Show

(Additional 10 NIS per ticket)

A rhythmic, funny, and captivating science show where energy jumps off the page and onto the stage!

Through spectacular experiments, surprising demonstrations, and live audience interaction, participants discover how energy is created, transformed, and transferred in different ways. The audience is invited to enjoy a blend of entertainment, scientific curiosity, and contemporary humor that presents physical principles in an accessible, visual, and unforgettable way.

The show sparks the imagination, encourages scientific thinking, and leaves both children and adults with sparkling eyes and a desire to keep exploring the world around them.

The show will run 1–3 times daily in the auditorium at an additional cost of 10 NIS per ticket.

Building Workshop: Light Breaker

How do scientists discover what distant stars are made of?

Come build your own light diffraction card and discover how white light breaks down into a beautiful spectrum of colors. In a short, hands-on workshop, you’ll get to know a simple tool that reveals the secrets of stars and galaxies—just like in real space science.

At the end of the activity, you can take your creation home and continue exploring there as well!

Rocket Science Demonstration

Have you ever wondered how spacecraft and giant rockets are launched into space, or what the connection is between water and missions to the Moon?

In a surprising science demonstration with audience participation, you will discover fascinating details about the crewed spacecraft that reached the Moon, launch special balloons, and send surprising rockets into the air!

Telescope Building Workshop

(Additional 20 NIS per ticket)

Ages 7+

How can we see distant stars?

Come build your own telescope and discover how we can look further into the sky. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn through engaging experiments about the optical principles that allow telescopes to magnify and focus light, and discover how lenses and light work together to bring distant objects closer to us.

During the activity, participants will build a simple telescope model that they can take home—and learn how this tool opened a window for humanity into the universe.

Foam Parties

Foam parties are back for the summer!

On July 3, 9, 16, 25 and August 1, the water complex will turn into a giant summer party with a foam cannon, upbeat music, and lots of fun for the whole family. Jump into mountains of foam, dance to the summer playlist, and continue enjoying the water games, flow channels, and wet activities throughout the exhibition.

A perfect combination of water, music, and a summer atmosphere you just can’t resist!

Beyond the Sky Festival | July 17, 18, 20, 21

Four days of space, imagination, and discovery await you at the Beyond the Sky Festival.

During the festival, you can enter a digital planetarium and travel among stars and galaxies, take part in rocket demonstrations, build a light diffraction card, join a telescope workshop, and explore the secrets of the universe through interactive activities for the whole family. In addition, you can visit the new space exhibition and experience the world of space exploration and astronomy up close.

Among the festival highlights: a special meeting with astronaut Eytan Stibbe (July 20 at 16:30), who will share personal stories from the “Rakia” mission and life aboard the International Space Station, and the show Avinoam and Ziggy (July 21 at 17:00) by creators Tamar Hochshatter and Orit Megidish-Shalev, combining stories, illustrations, and sounds in a creative journey where science and imagination take flight together into space. A fascinating family experience for anyone who dreams of going far—even all the way to the stars!
