Sliced Bench

About the exhibit

The bench was designed by industrial designer Yishai Kritzer, a student from the Department of Industrial Design at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design and a creator at the Science Museum.

The exhibit demonstrates how two-dimensional production (such as slices cut with a laser cutter) eventually enables a three-dimensional creation.

The combination of the number of layers and the amount of material (cross-linked polyurethane foam) that the bench is made of determines the final appearance of the product, which can be designed and modified according to the user's personal taste and needs.
