About the exhibit
The hand was fabricated by Stratasys, which develops and manufactures 3D printers.
The piece demonstrates the PolyJet technology, a 3D printing technique that allows the use of various materials in the same print.
The exhibit demonstrates the creation of an educational model that reveals the various types of tissue in the hand.
You can feel the different qualities of the tissues by touch: for example, the skin is softer than the muscles, and the blood vessels are made of a more flexible material than the bones.
