Train 322

Have you ever asked yourselves how a giant railway car, more than one hundred years old, eventually becomes home to an entire world of miniature trains? And what is the connection between a three-and-a-half-hour journey from Jerusalem to Jaffa and scientific progress?

Railway Car No. 322 is not just another exhibit — it is a means of transportation that travels through time. Over its more than one hundred years, it has undergone remarkable journeys and transformations: from the production line in Birmingham, England, in 1922, to daily travel on the Jerusalem–Jaffa line during the British Mandate period, and even special military use during the Sinai War.

Today, this historic carriage serves as the permanent home of a motorized model train exhibition, which includes dozens of miniature buildings, hundreds of tiny figures, and a network of tracks stretching 117 meters.

About the Exhibition

Inside the original third-class carriage, you can discover :fascinating scientific principles
Steam Power: How the invention of the steam engine turned heat energy into motion, enabling locomotives and railcars to move with speed and efficiency never seen before.
The History on the Wall: On the body of the carriage, you can find the marking PR 1922 and the sign of the British company that built it — hidden clues that reveal its story.
Scale: The exhibition reveals the world of 1:87 scale models and demonstrates how the pursuit of precision in details is an engineering and mathematical achievement in itself.
Being inside Car 322 offers an authentic experience: an encounter between the tangible history of the country’s first railway line and a miniature world — delicate and astonishingly precise — that turned the train into a symbol of the modern era.

Such a rich museum! The kids can touch, learn and experience everything, and parents can have a great time too. Arrive early and not in season, otherwise the place is packed. Will definitely visit again when the kids are older

Very enjoyable. The kids moved from one exhibit to another. The museum encourages them to explore. Suitable for kids over 5 (younger kids don’t pay but there isn't much for them to do)

Great museum, every exhibit is hands-on with clear explanations in Hebrew, English and Arabic. Fun and enjoyable for curious people of all ages. Nice, shaded areas to rest, eat and relax. Takes about 4 hours to cover everything

Awesome place with so many things to see, do and learn. Fun for the whole family! The are plenty of exhibitions that demonstrate different physical and natural phenomenas. The place is clean and tidy, and easy to navigate. It also has guided tours. Parking could be a problem if you come late, but overall - highly recommended
