Ballet shoe

About the exhibit

The final project of Hadar Neeman from the Department of Industrial Design at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.

P-ROUETTE (Pirouette) are custom-made pointe shoes (for classical ballet). The shoes were printed with a 3D printer, based on a scan of the dancer's foot.

The bespoke shoes are printed from a special polymer combined with fabric, providing improved foot support and reducing injuries while dancing.

The piece's name, P-ROUETTE, is a play on words, combining the word pirouette, which is related to ballet dancing, with the word polymer (P), which describes the family of materials from which the shoe is made
